David shot his first broadcast television footage at the age of 18 for the CBS Sports Spectacular series and spent ten years shooting sports. During that time he also received a degree in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Breaking out of sports David has since concentrated on entertainment television with a special emphasis on music, dance and drama. He developed strong expertise in studio work during five years on the original Cosby Show, and has since shot numerous sit-coms on both video and film. In between concerts, operas and sit-coms, there's also been time for plenty of corporate video, children's television and work for non-profits.
Taking on production tasks for a documentary on a local school building bond issue, David began what became Visionsmith Television. Since then he's been conceptualizing programs, writing scripts, producing and editing for a wide range of clients from the Texaco - Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network to local businesses. His special love is creating fund raising and informational programs for non-profit agencies, where he can combine his broadcast expertise and cutting edge technology to produce cost effective video with positive social impact.
